The winner of the first West African Idols-Timi Dakolo has finally taking the bull by the horn. Two years after the organizers of the reality show reneged on their promises of offering him a record deal, Timi is finally ready to release his debut album.
In line with the preparation of the album release, the album listening party was held at Swe Bar in Lagos on Wednesday January 20, 2009. It had in attendance different showbiz personalities from the music industry who came around to show him love.
Timi’s debut album will be made up of 11 songs with little collaborations. He featured MI in a track titled Heaven Plea which he wrote for his late grandmother. Initially, he has released Let It Shine which happened to be the first single from the album.
Timi became the winner of the first ever West African Idol in 2007 with a promise of a record deal which they have not fulfilled till date.
