Self acclaimed Egberi Papa One of Bayelsa, Timaya, seem to have understood more the importance of artiste management and packaging. Some time last year, he gave his manager, Daniel Lloyds, a Honda Accord Baby Boy car which actually was his first. As you read this write-up, Timaya, in a couple of days will be presenting him with another car that will be unveiled in this Blog later. Timaya took Glitz Stage where the car was parked few days back and it was really a sight to behold.
The car is currently parked at the garage in Timaya’s Marwa Gardens’ residence in Ikeja. The vehicle came in a blue colour a-waiting delivery to its new owner. According to the artiste, he is given out the car to his manager to further enhance the way he appears before their business partners during deliberations. “You know how the game is now. In this industry, you require constant packaging to remain on top always. I feel it is time to drop that Honda Accord for something more exotic”, Timaya said.
Mean while, the artiste who just released his sophomore album few months back is currently working on other songs. He finished work on a new single recently and it features rave making rap sensation, MI. Although at the time of filling this report, MI was yet to drop his verse.
He also revealed to Glitz Stage that the next album from his stable, Dem Mama Records, would be collaboration with his protégés’ Dem Mama Soldier’s.
However, the VCD of his current album will be released in a couple of months.

CONTROVERSY TRAILS NEA
The annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) in the United States of America has in the past few days come under great criticism by some of the Nigerians living in the Diaspora. Prominent among them is the Afrobeat artiste, Kola Ogunkoya popularly known as the Gbedu Master.
Kola and some other Nigerians in America have taken the awards to the cleaners alleging that it is not a credible one. They alleged that the people involved are only doing it for what they will get and not for the love and the development of the industry. One of the allegations was that they only give the awards to those in their caucus.
According to Kola, they are making Nigerian entertainers feel like fools. “Their award is just an attempt to mess up the integrity of Nigerians living here in America. Nobody even knew who he is except when he started his fake awards. America is easy to impress to get lots of support and money. None of us here will be against him if not for the fact that they use the name of our country to organise an award that has no credibility. As for me, I will never be part of it but I still want them to change the name from Nigeria Entertainment Awards to something else. We know how the award is being staged here and it is high time we stood our grounds”, Kola made this known to Glitz Stage through an electronic mail.

KOKO LOUNGE BERTHS
Friday June 5, 2009; was fun filled and accompanied with glitz, glamour, colour, ceremony and fanfare as multi-award winning star, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj scored another first. It was the launch of his club, Koko Lounge.
Select friends, colleagues and families of the star singer came in droves to celebrate another landmark achievement in the life of the singer. He is fast becoming an entrepreneur and towing the paths of American rappers, P.Diddy, Jay-Z and 50 Cent who own clothing lines and other chains of businesses with great turnovers. While we are yet to recover from the shock of Koko Mansion Reality Show which currently has sponsors falling head over heels to partake and the ladies trooping out enmasse for the forms like it’s a visa to heaven, the koko master has hit us with his Koko Lounge.
Koko Lounge is located at E Center, Commercial Avenue,Yaba, Lagos. It will operate like any other clubs in Lagos but strictly for the big boys and girls. The idea of the location is because it is easier to access from any part of Lagos.
